Westlife’s Nicky Byrne has left Dancing with the Stars

“A little news from me”

Nicky Byrne has left Dancing with the Stars. The Westlife singer broke the news this afternoon.

He confirmed that it was time for him to walk away from the presentation concert.

The Flying Without Wings singer has been on the show since 2017.

Nicky explained that he wanted to focus on Westlife and their tour.

“Hi everyone, a little news from me. Unfortunately, I will be stopping hosting ‘Dancing with the Stars’ on RTÉ.”

“Westlife now has ten shows on our ‘Wild Dreams’ tour. We had two phenomenal nights at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, followed by a stunning show at Wembley Stadium and two absolutely sensational nights at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork.

“This tour now continues to take us around the world, including five continents with over 60 shows through summer 2023.

“So with all of that in mind, I had to make some tough decisions. One of those is my future hosting of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ on RTÉ – a show I’ve loved hosting since the very beginning.”

Nicky said he “enjoyed being a part of this show a lot”.

“It’s been five brilliant seasons since our launch in 2017, working with the best crew in the world.”

“I have smiled and laughed throughout these 59 shows so far and what a journey it has been. I take home the fondest memories.”

He praised the cast, crew and fellow presenters for making it such a rewarding experience.

“I wish the best to whoever replaces me. Don’t fall down the stairs at the start of the show!! You’re going to have a blast.”

Who do you think will succeed Nicky?
