The Westlife star will perform at a Yorkshire society event

Next month Westlife star Brian McFadden will serve up a treat as Berry’s much-loved tennis event returns to Hazlewood Castle, Leeds.

The Berry event, which has become a who’s who of Yorkshire business and society, returns after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sponsored by luxury jeweler Berry’s, guests are treated to glamorous surroundings, high-end pop-up shops and of course the chance to watch world-class tennis with a host of renowned legends of the game visiting on the court from Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 June.

Former Wimbledon winner Richard Krajicek will return to play in the event, alongside three-time Masters title winner Thomas Enqvist and two-time Davis Cup winner Mark Philippoussis.

Krajicek added ‘I’ve had the great privilege of playing at Berry’s in the past and it’s really fun. I look forward to returning to the Hazlewood grounds and meeting this year’s guests.

In addition to tennis, 2022 will see evening musical entertainment, with former Westlife singer Brian McFadden announced as a special guest artist on the evening of Friday June 24.

Event founder Matt Haycox said: “After two years away, due to the pandemic, the Berry Tennis Classic returns to the Yorkshire social calendar in June.

“Guests can expect to see tennis legends play exhibition matches on our grass court, while sipping champagne in the intimate setting of Hazlewood Castle.

“Demand has never been higher from people contacting us and buying tickets as soon as we hinted it might be back, and we are already very close to selling out.

“As always, it’s the special ‘garden party’ atmosphere at Berry’s Tennis that makes it the most unique sports society event in the North, and we look forward to seeing everyone again.”

McFadden, who has toured the world with Westlife, said: “I’m delighted to be able to play at Berry’s this year. My fiancée, Dani, has attended as a guest in the past and absolutely loved it, so it’s a great honor to be able to take the stage and party with the guests this year!
