The lakeside estate popular with Kate Moss and the Take That star is expanding with new homes up to £3.5million

An exclusive lakeside estate popular with celebrities and the super-rich and 90 minutes from London is expanding. Yoo Lakes in the Cotswolds will build 77 houses and 63 apartments ranging in price from the ‘cheapest’ apartment at £765,000 to the most expensive house at up to £3.5million.

The star-studded list of past and present residents of The Lakes By Yoo, near Lechlade, Gloucestershire, includes Take That’s Mark Owen, Jade Jagger and several TV stars. The new development will be built on 110 acres and follows “unprecedented demand” for a home on the main estate.

Over the past 15 years, The Lakes by YOO has established itself as the most exclusive lakeside estate in England, with 180 second homes on 850 acres of private estate. It is close to London and international transport, and is home to luxurious private family residences set in beautiful lakes, woods and meadows.

Prices for two-bedroom apartments will start at £765,000 going up to £1,100,000 with four and five-bedroom houses starting at around £1.8m going up to £3.5m. Buyers of The Lakes by YOO in Cotswolds Waters will be offered membership to The Lakes by YOO Private Spa.

Giles Baker, Managing Director of The Lakes by YOO, said, “We are delighted to partner with Cygnet Investments to expand The Lakes by YOO portfolio. Just 90 minutes from London, The Lakes by YOO at Cotswolds Waters will meet the growing demands of city dwellers seeking an outdoor escape.

“The Lakes by YOO has firmly established itself as the most exclusive stay in the English countryside, and this extension creates even more opportunities for individuals and families to enjoy a luxury rural estate.”

The luxury waterfront estate is also where MP Johnny Mercer and Sky Kay newsreader Burley successfully hid from their pursuers on Celebrity Hunted. Some of Lakes By Yoo’s wood-panelled homes, created by real estate mogul John Hitchcox, were even designed by models Kate Moss and Elle Macpherson, and celebrity designer Philippe Starck.

Described as the UK’s answer to the Hamptons, the 850-acre estate of freshwater lakes promises people the kind of privacy and exclusivity expected by the upper echelons of British society.
