Take That and Elton John pay tribute to the Cheshire Festival

The best tribute acts to some of the world’s biggest music stars will be the highlight of a weekend of family fun in Cheshire.

Bowdonbury Festival returns next month for 2022 with stellar acts and attractions planned to entertain for two days.

Taking place at the Bowdon Cricket, Hockey and Squash Club in Altrincham, organizers have brought together artisan traders, a new range of bars and a family funfair.

There will also be a Makers Market, a huge inflatable obstacle course, pop-up booths from local businesses and family exhibits.

The Bowdonbury Festival opens on Friday 20 May with a new concert featuring the tribute acts and a set from DJ Darren Proctor.

The evening will take audiences on a nostalgic journey to the 90s and 2000s with headliners Take That Live and award-winning Michaela Weeks as the Princess of Pop Britney Spears.

Take That Live was named “Best Take That Tribute Band” at the National Tribute Awards and their show will feature hits from across the band’s career, including Pray, Greatest Day, Rule the World, Patience and Back for Good.

They will be joined by Michaela Weeks who was voted UK number one as a Britney Spears lookalike and tribute.

In 2014, Britney herself asked to meet Michaela during her residency in Las Vegas and the two were photographed together.

Bowdonbury continues on Saturday 21 May with a full day of family fun at the festival site as well as the main festival stage.

The live music program will be headlined by Paul Bacon as Ultimate Elton.

Paul – a lifelong Elton John fan – began singing and playing his music while studying performing arts at university in the 1980s and would sing classics such as Your Song, Candle In the Wind , Crocodile Rock and Don’t Let The Sun Go Down. on me.

The line-up also includes Paula Randell as Totally Tina. Paula, who is hailed as the world’s best Tina Turner tribute, is set to recreate the singer’s Tina “Live” 50th birthday concert with exact replica costumes and dance routines.

Also on Saturday, there will be ABBA and Chic tribute acts, as well as music from local bands throughout the day.

What else is on offer?

  • a spectacular 100-foot Inflatable World obstacle course for adults and children
  • brand new bars for 2022 include a gin bar, cocktail bar and local wine bar, while the Bach 95 Brewery – owned by a group of Sale Sharks players – will hold a beer tent
  • the food offering will include wood-fired pizzas from Little Red Pizza Company, gourmet burgers from Banksy, Indian street food, Dutch fries, churros, Greek wraps and vegan specialties

Organized by Max Eden, all proceeds from the festival, sponsored by Benchmark Security Group, will support the Bowdon Cricket, Hockey and Squash Club. The event will also support his named charity which this year is the Teenage Cancer Trust.
