Ryan Gosling didn’t believe the Backstreet Boys would work. The Hollywood hunk, who is famous for his roles in several romantic movies like The Notebook and La La Land, started as a child actor at the age of 13 in Disney Channel’s The Mickey Mouse Club. Today, he is admired by millions around the world for his acting.

It was previously reported that Gosling will be working on “Wolfman,” which will be directed by Derek Cianfrance. The duo have previously worked twice in Gosling’s two acclaimed films, 2010’s Blue Valentine and 2012’s The Place Beyond the Pines.

Speaking of the actor, it was once reported that Ryan Gosling didn’t believe the Backstreet Boys would work. In 2020, the ’90s boy band appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where they revealed that Ryan thought the band wouldn’t work. “Long story short, we lived in the same apartment complex when he was doing The Mickey Mouse Club,” band member AJ McLean said.

“He, Justin [Timberlake]Christina [Aguilera]Britney [Spears], all,” the Backstreet Boys member added. “We played basketball almost every other day. The group was launched. I kept telling him how big it was going to be. And he’s like, ‘Dude. new children [on the Block] already did. It will never work. Just shoot the ball,” McLean continued of Ryan Gosling.

“He was wrong and it worked,” McLean joked. It was also said that Gosling had been asked to join the band, but he declined the offer. The Boys also cleared up the rumors at the time and said he would never audition.

Despite what a young Ryan Gosling said, the Backstreet Boys took off with 1997’s single Quit Playing Games (With My Heart) and released several other hits, including 1999’s I Want It That Way.
