SINGAPORE — The stage is set for a searing return to Formula 1 trackside entertainment, as the Singapore GP has lined up blockbusters Marshmello, Westlife and Green Day as headliners for the return of the Singapore Grand Prix from Formula 1 Singapore Airlines.
In its first announcement of the Padang Stage acts, the Singapore GP said on Monday (May 23) that the final line-up will include more than 75 performances over the three race days September 30-October 2.
These performances will take place on eight stages at Marina Bay Street Circuit Park, with traveling performers as well as an array of exhibits and activities to entertain race-goers.
On the first day of racing, September 30, Grammy-nominated DJ Marshmello will take to the Padang stage with his infectious electronic music.
Wearing his signature mask, Marshmello – real name Christopher Comstock – is one of the world’s 40 most-streamed artists on Spotify – with nearly 12 billion streams on the music streaming service alone – and the third-most-streamed artist subscribed on YouTube.
He enjoyed chart-topping singles and collaborations with Juice WRLD, Halsey, Demi Lovato, Bastille, Kane Brown, Selena Gomez and Jonas Brothers, and was featured on the cover of Forbes magazine’s “30 Under 30” issue.
On October 1, one of the most successful boy bands of all time will return to Singapore to wow the crowd once again on their ‘The Wildest Dreams Tour’.
Westlife – made up of singers Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Nick Byrne – have enjoyed enduring success since forming in 1998, with 14 of their singles and eight of their 12 studio albums reaching No.1 on the UK charts and more of 24 million sales in the UK.
The prolific headliners whose hits include Swear It Again, Flying Without Wings, If I Let You Go and My Love, have received numerous accolades, including a World Music Award, two Brit Awards, four MTV Awards and four Record of the Awards of the year.
Finally, legendary punk rock band Green Day will perform on the Padang stage after the F1 race on October 2.
Comprised of vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool, Green Day are one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time, with over 70 million records sold worldwide and more than 10 billion streams.
The five-time Grammy Award winners from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are widely credited with popularizing and rekindling mainstream interest in punk rock, catapulting a string of No. 1 hit singles throughout their career. career, including American Idiot, Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and Wake Me Up at the End of September.
Further acts will be unveiled in the coming weeks to complete the entertainment program for F1’s return to the streets of Singapore after a two-year hiatus. The line-up of artists is subject to change.
All Singapore Grand Prix tickets will have access to the Padang Stage in Zone 4. Customers will need to ensure they have a valid ticket on the relevant day of an act’s performance.
Meanwhile, additional tickets for the promenade and grandstand for a day will be available for sale in the coming days.
Zone 4 and Premier Walkabout tickets will go on sale from Tuesday 10 a.m. (Singapore time). Tickets in this category are available as one-day options starting at S$98 for a Friday Zone 4 Walkabout ticket and three-day tickets starting at S$288.
A limited edition grandstand day ticket will be available for sale from Thursday 10 a.m. (Singapore time). Prices start from S$98 for a Bay Grandstand ticket (Friday),
