The industry’s 4080 rule still rings true nearly 32 years later. Foreign Fivio revealed that he had signed MA$E for only $5,000.

According Hip Hop No More the drill rapper didn’t move tactfully early in his career. During a recent visit to A million dollar game podcast, he discussed his business dealings with former Bad Boy Entertainment talent. He explained that he did a song called “Blixky Inna Box” with Jay Dee and Dee Savv which piqued Betha’s interest in all three MCs. He went on to explain that he signed with him when they first met. “The nigga that brought me to him, he was like, ‘Yo, man. Just sign that shit, you buggin’, ‘I’m like, ‘Yeah, read it.’ He’s like, ‘Okay, just sign it. That’s fine.’ So, I just signed it,” he said.

Naturally Wallo, who defends artists and entrepreneurship, was visibly disappointed by the admission. He then asked how long the $5,000 had lasted him, and as expected, it was quick. “This shit hit. I thought this shit was gonna last until it lasts. This shit doesn’t last two weeks,” he continued. “Mase knows the business. He really knows the business a lot. I didn’t know anything,” Fivio added. “He pretended to try to explain it to me. ‘You have to keep this. I can keep 30 per cent of this. I was like that, whatever.
