The Blues kicked off their 2022-23 campaign with a thrilling opening day draw against the Owls at Hillsborough.
Danny Cowley’s side fell behind after nine minutes when Marvin Johnson put the hosts ahead before Connor Ogilvie replied after the break with a surprise equaliser.
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru gave the hosts the lead two minutes later, when moments later Colby Bishop thought he had opened his Pompey account with his goal credited to Michael Jacobs.
The former Accrington striker found his name on the scoresheet to put the Blues ahead in the 64th minute before Dele-Bashiru netted his second to level the game with 10 minutes left to level the game.
Traveling Pompey fans were in full voice at Hillsborough, but on social media, the Fratton faithful had their say in Saturday’s 3-3 draw.
Here’s the best of Twitter’s reaction.
@jordy_drapes: Take that all day – great fight in the second half!!
@kelvadams: Cracking performance boys…didn’t give up. Against one of the favorites of the championship!
@gingerboyo: Crazy game, but I’ll take a point! Colby Bishop also scored on his debut, he’s going to be fun this year!
@Dann_PFC: To be honest, absolutely take this. Coming back showed what we are capable of and Wednesday is a great team.
@JamieSartain94: I take it 100%, on paper the best team in the league said before the start I would take a draw.
Too bad we couldn’t hold on but we’re moving on to the next one! Make way for the Blues!
@pfcsam: Take this all day. Unreal performance in the second half. More of this to come please.
@whcallum: Great point. I see they will be up there, but after this second half there is no reason why we shouldn’t be too.
@smilersteve1: Emotions everywhere and it’s only the first day.
Would have taken a point before the game. What a game!
@Up_In_Lights13: More than I thought we would get from this game and take this early on.
@PDThomas75: Breathtaking stuff. Second half crunch. A fair result, I’ll take it.
