Boyzone’s Shane Lynch Says He’s Leaving Showbiz For Good

He joined Boyzone when he was just 17, but it seems Shane Lynch has finally had enough of the showbiz world.

The 46-year-old has revealed he is leaving music and show business for good in a new interview.

Lynch’s last involvement with the boyband, which formed in 1993, was when they wrapped up their 25th anniversary tour, which ended in 2019. Boyzone said they were parting ways following of the tour, but even if they decide to reform at some point, it looks like it will be without Lynch.

He told New magazine that the only thing he will remain in the public eye for is the reality show ‘The Real Housewives of Cheshire’, in which he appears with his wife Sheena.

“Over the past year or so, I’ve made an active decision to leave the industry altogether, whether it’s music or television,” he said. “The only thing you’ll see me do is Real Housewives because it’s part of our lives and they walked into our house and it’s all genuine.

“I happen to be one of them, but my professional life has reached a whole new level and I’m happy about that.”

Lynch’s aforementioned “professional life” has recently included a chain of 1920s-inspired barbershops called The Elk & Clippers in Northern Ireland, as well as an Irish pub in Cheshire called D13.

“We moved to Cheshire for business, which is why Sheena ended up on the show, and I’m okay with that,” he said. “I’m happy to just focus on the companies we run. We have about five or six. I can’t afford to go on tour for two months. It just doesn’t fit my life.”

Sorry Shane, but we can’t let you go without a glimpse of this gem one last time…
