Boyzone members create Whatsapp group to keep in touch

The former Boyzone members keep in touch via Whatsapp although there are still no reunion plans, three years after their farewell album.

AceShowbiz – Boyband members Boyzone have a whatsapp group account so they can stay in touch.

The ‘Father & Son’ hitmakers are no longer together but singer Ronan Keating likes to make sure they can always chat about what’s going on in their lives online.

He reveals that he has become the custodian of the boys’ WhatsApp account.

“It changes because people leave all the time,” he explains, “it’s like the story of a boy band, people leave and then you start a new one and then they come back and then someone ‘one on the other hand.”

“The Boyzone WhatsApp group changes every month – name, title, people. But yes, it exists. There are plans for another Boyzone WhatsApp group but no reunion.”

Meanwhile, Ronan admits that one of his closest music mates is a boyband rival and Take that Star Gary Barlow.

“Gary and I are good friends, we’re carved from the same stone,” he adds. “There’s definitely a rivalry between Gary and me when we start counting The Brits and MTV awards. He’s got a bit more than me; he wins every time but I still think the competition is important.”

Although there are no musical reunion plans, the group is reportedly working on a biopic.

“We are talking to Hollywood (executives) to turn the Boyzone story into a movie, with an Irish tone,” Shane Lynch previously opened. “It’s important that it’s done well, telling the story of each member in the room, about them growing up and at school.”
